Readout of Secretary Raimondo’s Meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council of the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Yesterday, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and the U.S. delegation of the Presidential Trade and Investment Mission met with Philippine Secretary of Information and Communications Technology Ivan Uy and the leadership of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) of the Philippines, an advisory body to the Philippine government comprising business leaders and experts. During the meeting, the Secretary discussed three key economic areas of mutual interest: energy, infrastructure, and information and communications technology. The Secretary commended Philippine government efforts to open renewable energy and public services to foreign investment and ownership, which will allow the U.S. private sector to better support the clean energy transition and infrastructure development and connectivity in the Philippines. She encouraged U.S. and Philippine companies to leverage the Mission to explore new partnerships benefitting both economies.
