Acting Under Secretary for Political Affairs John Bass met with Bahraini Foreign Ministry Under Secretary for Political Affairs Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in Washington yesterday, during the fourth annual meeting of the U.S.-Bahrain Strategic Dialogue. Acting Under Secretary Bass and Under Secretary Al Khalifa discussed a range of issues and progress made in deepening the U.S.-Bahraini strategic partnership including in security, economic innovation and prosperity, culture, education, and people-to-people ties.
They also discussed developments in Lebanon, Israel, and Gaza, and the importance of ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability for all. Acting Under Secretary Bass expressed gratitude to Under Secretary Al Khalifa for Bahrain’s leading role working to promote peace across the region, including security in the Red Sea. The Under Secretaries exchanged views on global challenges and opportunities and reviewed momentum resulting from the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA).
