On September 18, 2024, at 10:30a.m. ET in Washington, D.C., Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W. Fernandez will deliver remarks alongside Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić at an official signing ceremony between the U.S. and Serbia to advance energy cooperation. The Under Secretary and Minister will provide opening remarks before signing an agreement on strategic cooperation in the field of energy in Serbia, which will expand opportunities for U.S. companies to invest in Serbia’s energy sector, including promoting U.S. investments that will strengthen the U.S.-Serbia relationship.
Media representatives wishing to attend the remarks must RSVP by email to [email protected], with final call time of 10:15a.m. ET. The remarks will take place at the Harry S Truman Building, 2201 C St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20520, and press access will be the C Street Main Entrance. There is limited space, so please confirm as soon as possible.
The official signing ceremony space does not allow for electronics but is considered on-the-record and attributable. Photos and video will be collected by authorized Department personnel and shared with reporters after the event.
Immediately following the ceremony, journalists may also join for a closing statement by Minister Đurić, which will allow for the use of cameras and audio and video recording equipment. The Under Secretary’s remarks will not be livestreamed but recorded and published online as prepared following the conclusion of the ceremony.
