Today, the Department of State announced the launch of the 2024 “The Climate Crisis: Working Together for Future Generations” International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) initiative. This exchange initiative will bring over 80 climate experts and advocates from approximately 60 countries to the United States to engage with their American professional counterparts on the negative impacts of the climate crisis and opportunities for international partnership and cooperation.
From September 30 to October 19, the international participants will meet with government officials, environmental and climate experts, entrepreneurs, media professionals, and community leaders. Meetings will address strategies to promote climate resilience and clean energy, efforts to strengthen land and ocean stewardship, national and local approaches to drive innovative climate solutions, and more.
The 2024 “The Climate Crisis: Working Together for Future Generations” IVLP initiative is led by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs and is supported in its implementation by FHI 360.
