On November 4, 2023, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves met with State Secretary for Trade of Angola Amadeu Leitao Nunes at the 20th Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Forum. The two discussed the rapidly evolving U.S.-Angola commercial partnership and how U.S. business can be a partner of choice in supporting Angola’s efforts to develop the Lobito Corridor, along with Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Additionally, they agreed to develop a formal bilateral mechanism to deepen U.S.-Angola commercial cooperation in sectors that will help diversify Angola’s economy, support its digital transformation, and empower its women and youth.
